1998年，Audionet 邀約 Hamamura 爵士五重奏團體，使用高達 192KHz 頻寬的麥克風，錄製了世界上首張全規格、自然錄音的 DVD-Audio 示範片 - Retold DVD，這是最早能同時符合高解析度 DVD-Audio 音樂標準(192KHz/ 24Bit)、與 DVD 影像標準的參考天碟。

　

全片採 DVD 高解析度技術，以真實 192KHz 頻寬之麥克風拾音，於德國漢堡一歷史著名的爵士錄音室灌錄完成。所有的曲目皆以 Acoustics 的方式呈現，現場一氣呵成而無間斷。採直刻錄音，不經任何後製作與再混音處理，氣氛如臨現場，音色自然甘醇，有著極為發燒的音效與豐富耐聽的泛音層次，堪稱是 DVD-Audio 最佳之錄音典範。

　

Hamamura 五重奏，由五位畢業於美國波士頓音樂學院的年輕樂手組成，團員來自世界各國，已有多年的共同演奏經驗與絕佳的配合默契。並駕於 Audionet 極至的錄音效果，五位團員的首度錄音也展現了不凡的音樂素養。經由他們的詮釋，賦予了多首爵士名曲更深刻的生命力；樂曲本身非常動聽，樂器與人聲的技巧一流。

All tracks are recorded directly, with no further processing, remixing or overdubbing. The result is an extremely lush and engaging atmosphere, and matchless sound quality.

RETOLD is the first publication of the Hamamura quintet. Five young, top-class musicians who play together since their education on the Berklee College of Music in Boston. On the Retold sampler the Hamamura quintet interprets classic jazz titles.
